When all said and done, Anna and Scott’s Settlement Building wedding was one for the books. They planned a low key wedding day at the Settlement Building in downtown Vancouver. I found their wedding to be one that was so easy to shoot. Anna and Scott have such go-with-the-flow personalities
Firstly, Anna and Scott both got ready for the day at their house in Vancouver. The were joined by their closest friends and family. When it came time for them to get dressed, they moved to different parts of the house. Afterward, they had their first look in the backyard, while their friends and families watched from the house.
Ceremony
Subsequently, their wedding ceremony was held in the Settlement Building event space. It incorporated elements of a Persian wedding to honour Anna’s family heritage. Unmarried Friends and family members of the bride held a canopy over the couple’s head. Meanwhile, happily married members of the family take turns grinding two sugar cones together. The sugar granules fall into the canopy, symbolically showering the couple in sweetness.
Reception
Next on the agenda was a relaxed dinner at the Vancouver Urban Winery. After that, the dinner was followed by an epic dance party back at the settlement building wedding event space. Anna and Scott’s reception was complemented by a stunning neon sign made by Steveston Creative.
