Taryn and Alex forwent the traditional North Arm Farm wedding ceremony to do things a little differently. To celebrate their long-time relationship, they brought their friends and family together for a commitment ceremony.
First, they started with a chill morning. Alex and Taryn got ready together with their fur baby, Kona, at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. When it was time for them to get dressed, they parted ways. Afterward, they came back together for a beautiful first look outside the hotel. The morning was followed by a drive to Green Lake in 40 degree heat for portraits with just the two of them.
Alex’s sister performed their formal commitment ceremony. It was held in front of 60 of their closest friends and family in front of a stunning mountain backdrop at North Arm Farm. Instead of a traditional bride walk down the aisle, they walked in together, hand-in-hand.
The reception was held outdoors with rustic long tables, lots of greenery, candles, and touches of copper accents. The reception decor and florals were designed by Robyn of Blue Violet Events.
Just as the sun started to go down, the guests headed into the barn for dessert and dancing while we went out for portraits. If you look closely, you can see the mosquitoes swarming around them, because they were EVERYWHERE.
After a quick dress change, Taryn and Alex headed back inside to dance the night away. This North Arm Farm “wedding” was perfect.
I drove home covered in a combination of Off mosquito repellant and powdered donut residue. Winner winner chicken dinner.
