Ashleigh and Bri-anne
I have to start with this: I love love. To be honest, I don’t care much about the decor, the dresses, the makeup, the hair, etc… Those things are amazing to look at and photograph, but the truth of the matter is it’s just not about that. The reason I get so emotional at weddings has nothing to do with the aesthetic things.
It’s the people, the relationships, the trials, the tribulations, the challenges, the love, the loss, the emotion. It’s about everything in your life that has led you to this moment. Every obstacle you’ve overcome, every second of your childhood, whether positive or negative. It’s shaped the person you are, and that person has found another who fits you like the missing piece. That is what Ashleigh and Bri-anne have.
They created their dream event, which was an intimate farm wedding in Pemberton.
These are my favourite parts from their vows:
“Growing up where I did, I could really never imagine my wedding day, because a love story like ours would not have existed as a legal marriage. In preparing for this moment today, I was overcome with a sense of gratitude for the many people who came before us and advocated for moments of love like this.”
“I wish I could promise you the world, because that it what you deserve. I can promise to love you for every day of our lives. To make you laugh no matter what situation we might face. I promise to always be that shoulder to cry on, and I promise to at least sometimes share my food with you. Sometimes.”
I cried shooting this wedding, again while editing this wedding, and again while watching the slideshow.
Their Pemberton intimate farm wedding in Pemberton was everything they wanted it to be, and I’m so grateful they let me be a part of it.
