8 Locations For A Forest Wedding Ceremony in British Columbia

So you’ve decided that you’d like to take advantage of the beautiful scenery of British Columbia for your forest wedding ceremony, but you have no idea where to start. Well here I am to save the day! I’m here to share with you my top 8 locations for outdoor forest ceremonies.

1. Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver

First off, this place is a no brainer. It’s a beautiful forest with an infinite number of trails. You can easily hop right off the trail without disturbing nature and hold a rather large size ceremony. It’s totally unnecessary to even bring an arbour to get married under. Just find a cool shaped tree and voila! Check out the Salish Trail!

2. Springer Park in Burnaby

Sometimes the best locations are the most unsuspecting. You wouldn’t necessarily look at this park and think it was a prime forest wedding ceremony location, but I can guarantee it is amazing! Check out the gallery below to see how this location can be utilized for beautiful ceremony images.

3. Golden Ears Provincial Park in Maple Ridge

If you’re into water, mountains, and forest all-in-one, this is your place! Golden Ears Provincial Park has some of the coolest locations for a potential forest wedding ceremony. However, I’d only recommend this spot for the spring/fall/winter months, as it can be completely jam packed on those hot summer Saturdays. *Also requires a day pass!

4. Derby Reach Regional Park in Langley

This park has endless trails that extend all around the Fraser River in Langley, BC. Derby Reach also has large fields with stunning sunset light! Beware of mosquitoes June-August!

5. Campbell Valley Park in Langley

Mostly known for horseback riding trails, Campbell valley is an enormous park in South Langley, with several forested areas, large grassy fields, and lots of forest wedding ceremony options!

6. Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver

Lighthouse Park has some of the most stunning views of BC’s coastal sunset, but on the way to those epic oceanside spots is a huge forest with extra wide trails. Here is an amazing Lighthouse Park Wedding!

7. Tynehead Regional Park in Surrey

Tynehead Regional is a super accessible forest location. It’s multitude of trails are both paved and flat. It’s perfect for a forest wedding ceremony, just hop off the trail to avoid the bikers! Tynehead is also a hop, skip, and a jump off highway 1, so very easy to get to for those out of towner guests!

8. Redwood Park in South Surrey

Redwood Park gets an A+ for guest parking, giant trees, and open fields. It has multiple locations where you could hold a beautiful forest wedding ceremony, with open areas to place chairs for your guests who are less mobile.

If it’s always been your dream to get married in a forest, or it’s something that you’ve thought up more recently due to our Covid climate, there are a number of options in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland areas for you to consider. Be sure to do your research! Certain areas require permits to hold wedding ceremonies. Like always, I encourage you to reach out to your vendors for our input! We’re always happy to help!

In the meantime, here’s a STUNNING forest ceremony to feast your eyes on.
